Last updated: 13 April 2026

1. Introduction

VidRoute ("we", "us", "our") is operated by TribeMingle. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the VidRoute platform at vidroute.co (the "Platform").

By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Seller Account Information

When you create a Seller account, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Password (stored securely using one-way hashing)
  • Creator handle (your public username)
  • Optional storefront details: display name, bio, avatar image, and social media links

2.2 Payout and Financial Information

To process payouts, Sellers provide:

  • Flutterwave: Bank name, bank account number, account holder name, country, and routing codes (SWIFT, branch code, sort code as applicable). This information is shared with Flutterwave to create a payout subaccount.
  • Stripe Connect: You are redirected to Stripe to complete identity verification and bank setup. Stripe collects and manages this information directly under their Privacy Policy. We store your Stripe account ID, connection status, and display name.

2.3 Buyer Information

Buyers do not need an account. At checkout, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional, used for WhatsApp delivery if applicable)

Payment card details and billing information are collected and processed directly by our payment providers (Flutterwave or Stripe) and are never stored on our servers.

2.4 Transaction Data

For each purchase, we record:

  • Product purchased, amount, currency, and fees
  • Payment provider transaction references
  • Payment method type (e.g. "card", "bank transfer")
  • Card type and last 4 digits (provided by the payment processor for receipts)
  • Transaction status and timestamps

2.5 Product and Content Data

Sellers upload product information including titles, descriptions, pricing, sales videos, delivery files or links, and testimonials. Videos are hosted via a third-party CDN (Bunny.net).

2.6 Automatically Collected Data

We may collect standard technical data through your use of the Platform, including browser type, device type, IP address, and pages visited. We use this to operate, maintain, and improve the Platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate the Platform and provide our services
  • Process payments and deliver products to Buyers
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, delivery confirmations, sale notifications, payout confirmations)
  • Send account-related communications (welcome emails, Stripe account alerts, draft reminders)
  • Process Seller payouts through Flutterwave or Stripe
  • Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Comply with legal obligations and payment provider requirements
  • Improve and develop the Platform

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not send marketing emails to Buyers.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

4.1 Payment Providers

We share necessary transaction and identity data with Flutterwave and Stripe to process payments and payouts. Each provider handles your data under their own privacy policies:

4.2 Seller–Buyer Disclosure

When a Buyer makes a purchase, the Seller receives the Buyer's name and email address (and phone number if provided) so they can fulfil the order. Sellers are shown the Buyer's contact details in their earnings dashboard and sale notification emails.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of VidRoute, our users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Transaction records are retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes (typically 7 years). If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information, except where we are required by law to retain it.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
  • All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
  • Payment card details are handled exclusively by PCI-compliant payment providers and never touch our servers
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

VidRoute uses essential cookies and browser local storage for:

  • Authentication sessions (keeping you logged in)
  • Product creation drafts (saved locally in your browser so you can resume)

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
